Chicago Suburb Goes Gun Control Crazy
Chicago Suburb Violates The Second Amendment Rights Of Their Residents.
Deerfield, Illinois thought little of the rights of their residents, as they put forth a gun ban. The gun ban likely in response to some of the misinformation that Hogg has been spouting, or in the supposed name of safety is over the top. It includes more than just the demonized AR-15.
The ban includes multiple semi-automatic weapons.
“In the ordinance, the definition of an assault weapon includes, among others, semiautomatic rifles that have a fixed magazine with a capacity to accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition; shotguns with a revolving cylinder; and semiautomatic pistols and rifles that can accept large-capacity magazines and possess one of a list of other features. Among the dozens of specific models cited are the AR-15, AK-47, and Uzi, according to the ordinance.”
So unless the ordinance is contested, the residents will have to turn in any weapon that fits this description. They must be turned in by June 13th or they face a fine of $1000 a day until they do.
The townspeople were divided on the issue some residents spoke out on the ordinance.
“The ordinance to store firearms was only passed for one reason,” Nordal said. “That was to have an amendatory vehicle that could be used in the future for just this purpose so you could banish assorted firearms in the future. First, it’s going to be assault rifles. (There will be) new bans in the future. It’s just a matter of time.”
“There’s an ancient and honored American tradition called disobeying an unjust law,” Siegel said. “I have urged (people) to listen to their conscience and if so moved do not obey this law.”

But luckily for the residents, news of this attack on American rights drew the attention of the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF). The SAF has filed a lawsuit against the suburb.
“The suit was filed in the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Lake County and the plaintiffs are represented by Glen Ellyn attorney David Sigale.
“The lawsuit challenges the village ban under a 2013 amended state statute that declared ‘the regulation of the possession or ownership of assault weapons are exclusive powers and functions of this State.
Any ordinance or regulation, or portion of that ordinance or regulation, that purports to regulate the possession or ownership of assault weapons in a manner that is inconsistent with this Act, shall be invalid…'” explains the news release.”
So the residents at least have a chance now.
