Bloomberg Comes Out Swinging With 100 Million Dollars In Attack Ads
It looks like Judge Judy was testing the waters for Michael Bloomberg, as she recently endorsed the former mayor before he even filed to run. Bloomberg has not even officially announced that he is running but plans to attack Trump from the get-go. We will have to see if his money can win him a place in the primary. Money has done next to nothing for Tom Steyer who entered the race this past July.
“Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is spending $100 million on digital ads against President Donald Trump despite not yet officially declaring his candidacy for the Democratic nomination to the presidency.
“We’re very clear,” Howard Wolfson, a top Bloomberg political adviser, told the New York Times on Friday. “A case that we make for Mike is that he is the best candidate to take on Trump, and one of the reasons he is the best candidate is he can take the fight to him immediately and robustly.”
The advertisements are slated to begin airing on Friday in the battleground states of Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin and will continue running through the end of the presidential primary season. Bloomberg himself is not featured in the ad beyond the legally mandated disclaimers, but rather the ads will focus on attacking the incumbent president.”
“The billionaire businessman, who filed as a Democratic presidential candidate in Alabama earlier in November because of the state’s early filing deadline, has not yet made an official declaration of a presidential run…”
It appears Bloomberg is trying to clear the air before the announcement as he is already apologizing for comments he made in the past which would be considered sexist.
“Bloomberg — who is expected to soon declare his candidacy in the Democratic primary — issued a rare apology through a spokesman in a New York Times piece about his lurid statements.
“Mike has come to see that some of what he has said is disrespectful and wrong,” Bloomberg spokesman Stu Loeser said in a statement Thursday. “He believes his words have not always aligned with his values and the way he has led his life.”
It looks like he is going all out against Trump and he hasn’t even begun. But his past comments were pretty rough from calling women stupid, to claiming it’s impossible to believe someone who says they were raped. Trump may have said grab them by the P***, but he never said some of the vile stuff Bloomberg did. But I am sure the Dems will have no issue with his past sexist comments due to his political views.
