It appears an Oregon High School has their panties in a bunch over a food truck appearing during the football team’s home games. The confused teens seem to think there is something wrong with Chick-Fil-A.

About 100 students at an Oregon high school walked out of classes last week in support of the LGBTQ community after they said a series of events made students feel unsafe, including the presence of a Chick-fil-A food truck at home football games.

The West Linn High School students, organized by the school’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance, walked out of school Friday to protest what they say is rising anti-LGBTQ sentiment on campus. GSA President Susie Walters, who organized the protest, told a local NBC affiliate that LGBTQ students have increasingly been the target of harassment and bullying at the school.”

The student group’s president, Susie Walters, told Oregon Public Broadcasting that she has faced harassment while on campus and throughout the community.

“I have faced, on school property and in our community, from West Linn students, I’ve faced people yelling slurs at me, and calling me names,” Walters told the outlet.”

The school’s principal made an announcement that the school does not support student walkouts as forms of protest — and the school’s public information officer added that the school was not aware of any incidents of harassment against the LGBTQ community.

There was a group of freshmen who planned a counter-walkout. KGW tried talking with them, but a spokesman with the district told us he didn’t feel comfortable having students on camera without permission from their parents.”

The Chick-Fil-A food truck will be appearing during all of the remaining games during 2019.

I understand the protest over slurs or harassment, but the food truck, that’s where you lost me.

Chick-Fil-A hires LGBTQ, they give numerous teens their first job and they do their best to work around their school schedules. They also have great food and service. They do not discriminate. So there is no reason to boycott them. The owner is allowed to believe whatever he’d like, it’s called free speech. These misguided teens need to understand that people are allowed to have different opinions.
