UPDATE:Two Californian Boys Killed In A School Parking Lot
Two young adolescents were killed last Saturday in the parking lot of Searles Elementary School. Originally there was not a lot of information out but now a little more has been released by the authorities, including a video from afar.
This past Saturday at 1:30 in the morning two boys, Kevin Hernandez and Sean, an 11 and 14-year-old were, for reasons still unknown, hanging out in a mini-van in a school parking lot. A car pulled up and an unknown person got out and shot up the van. He then fled in the car he arrived in.
It turns out a neighbor videoed the incident from afar.

“The surveillance video from a nearby home’s security camera captured the shooting and shows two vehicles in the parking lot. As one starts to drive away, flashes of gunfire began more than 20 shots in all.
The shooter then gets back into a car and drives away. The entire exchange lasted only 40 seconds.
McKenzie Norman, whose home security camera captured the shooting, was shocked by what she saw on the video. “Just knowing that it was right across from my house and you can actually see it in the footage made me really in shock and nervous now,” said Norman.
According to sources close to the investigation, detectives believe one of the boys drove the minivan to the school parking lot. What they don’t know is why.
“We don’t know what they were doing out there at 1:30 in the morning, and we haven’t ruled out that this is gang-related, but we haven’t verified it yet either,” said Union City Police Lt. Steve Mendez.”
“Mariana Ramos, who set up the site, wrote, “Kevin and Sean’s family were not expecting this tragedy to happen. Friends are very upset and we all wonder why this has happened to our loved ones.”
“Why us? Why them!? They were only 11 and 14, they didn’t get the chance to see life ahead of them because some cruel people don’t have hearts,” she wrote.”
“Union City Mayor Carol Dutra-Vernaci spoke out about the tragedy and said, “We are heartbroken and outraged that the lives of and 11 and 14-year-old were taken away from their friends and their family.”
This could still be gang-related, as that hasn’t been ruled out. Police are currently investigating the incident. It remains unclear as to how these young kids were out at such a late hour without anyone noticing.
