Incoming House Judiciary Chair Already Talking Trump Impeachment
Jerry Nadler is expected to be the new Chairman of the Judiciary Committee since the Democrats just won the majority in The House.
There is new evidence that Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen broke Campaign Finance Laws. On CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper, Jerry Nadler discussed a possible Trump Impeachment due to this new development.
The new Mueller investigation filing alleges that Trump knowingly used campaign funds to pay off two women.
“With respect to both payments. Cohen acted with the intent to influence the 2016 Presidential Election… In particular, and as Cohen himself has now admitted, with respect to both payments, he acted in coordination with and at the direction of individual 1.”
Individual 1 being Trump.
Tapper then asked Nadler if he felt that these allegations would be impeachable if true.
“They would be impeachable offenses,” Nadler said. “Whether they are important enough to justify an impeachment is a different question. But, certainly, they would be impeachable offenses, because, even though they were committed before the president became president, they were committed in the service of fraudulently obtaining the office.”
Nadler then claims that these allegations and indictments are part of a conspiracy on the American people.

“But, Nadler hedged slightly on impeachment, saying that just because a president commits an impeachable offense, it doesn’t always justify impeachment. “There are several things you have to look at. One, were there impeachable offenses committed? How many, etc.? And secondly, how important were they? Do they rise to the gravity where you should undertake an impeachment?”
Nadler also made sure to point out that, “There is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits the president from being indicted,” but noted that even if they cannot indict Trump while he is in office, he could be indicted after he leaves the White House.”
So Nadler can’t touch Trump even with the allegations. Trump is a sitting president these Dems need to let go of their dreams of impeachment.
