At least seven people were wounded Sunday night in a shooting attack north of Jerusalem on Route 60. Terrorists opened fire on a group of Israelis at a bus stop outside of the town of Ofra in the Binyamin district of Samaria, along Route 60.

According to initial reports, the terrorists opened fire from a moving vehicle in a drive-by shooting. The terrorists fled the scene immediately after the attack.

One of the two victims is said to be in serious condition. She has been identified as a pregnant 21-year-old woman.

The pregnant woman, along with a 21-year-old man in moderate condition and two 16-year-olds in light condition were evacuated to the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem, Isreal National News reported.

AJC’s Assistant Executive Director, Avi Mayer broke the story on social media:

Hamas has welcomed tonight’s Palestinian shooting attack, in which a pregnant Israeli woman and six others were wounded, calling it a “blessed” demonstration of “the ability of the resistance to hurt the enemy in its most sensitive places.” https://t.co/3FOFicjOgh

According to Isreal Times, the woman was undergoing surgery late Sunday and was “fighting for her life,” the hospital said.

“She arrived in a state of shock and had lost a lot of blood,” said Dr. Alon Schwartz, a surgeon at the hospital. “She has a gunshot wound in the lower stomach area,” he said adding that doctors continued to operate on her.

Doctors successfully delivered the baby being carried by a 21-year-old Israeli woman late Sunday night, shortly after she was shot and critically hurt in a terrorist attack outside the West Bank settlement of Ofra.

The baby, who was delivered by Cesarean section in the 30th week of the pregnancy, was immediately transferred to the ward for premature babies at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center, the hospital said, and was said to be in “stable” condition.
