Senator Collins has been a target for the Democrats as they can’t believe that she would vote in Kavanaugh. It is ridiculous that they should go after her as she gave a speech and fully explained her decision. But the Democrats don’t seem to care as to why or how she based her opinion on the available evidence. They just wanted her vote. So now it looks like someone has decided to attack Collins in her home for her informed decision.

Communications Director for Senator Collins, Annie Clark, tweeted the following

“Senator Collins’s husband, Tom Daffron, today received a threatening letter that the writer claimed was contaminated with ricin, a highly hazardous substance which was used in a previous attack against the United States Senate.”

“Mr. Daffron, their dog, and parts of their home were quarantined while the crime lab undertook an analysis of the premises. The affected areas have now been cleared, and Senator Collins and Mr. Daffron will be able to remain at home tonight.”

Collins and her family have been receiving threats ever since she made the choice to vote in Kavanaugh. Despite the scare, she seemed to be handling the situation well.

“We are also truly appreciative of the many well wishes that we received today,” the couple added. “Our friends and neighbors have been incredibly kind and have even offered to open their homes to us. We feel blessed to live in such a supportive community.”
