Russian Summit, A Step Closer To Better US-Russian Relations
The Russian Summit happened today in Helinski Finland and the media is not happy about it. There were a lot of positives that came out of the meeting such as plans for collaboration and further relations between the countries.
But the media harped on one particular part of the meeting, the question and answer portion. An Associated Press member, Jonathan Lemire, asked some heavy hitting questions.
“Just now President Putin denied having anything to do with the election interference in 2016, every U.S. Intelligence Agency has concluded that Russia did. Who do you believe? Would you now with the whole world watching tell President Putin, would you denounce what happened in 2016? And would you warn him to never do it again?
“So let me just say that we have two thoughts. You have groups that are wondering why the F.B.I. never took the server — haven’t they taken the server. Why was the FBI told to leave the office of the Democratic National Committee? I’ve been wondering that, I’ve been asking that for months and months and I’ve been tweeting it out and calling it out on social media. Where is the server? I want to know where is the server and what is the server saying? With that being said, all I can do is ask the question.
My people came to me, Dan Coats came to me and some others, they said they think it’s Russia. I have President Putin; he just said it’s not Russia. I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be. But I really do want to see the server. But I have — I have confidence in both parties. I — I really believe that this will probably go on for a while, but I don’t think it can go on without finding out what happened to the server. What happened to the servers of the Pakistani gentleman that worked on the D.N.C.? Where are those servers? They’re missing; where are they? What happened to Hillary Clinton’s e-mails? 33,000 e-mails gone — just gone. I think in Russia they wouldn’t be gone so easily. I think it’s a disgrace that we can’t get Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 e-mails.
So I have great confidence in my intelligence people but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today. And what he did is an incredible offer. He offered to have the people working on the case come and work with their investigators with respect to the twelve people. I think that is an incredible offer.”
Putin also weighed in on the question saying that this is a matter best settled by the courts.
Lemire then asked Putin about Trump’s views about Crimea and the following:
“Do you, Does the Russian Government have any compromising material on President Trump or his family?”
“I have heard the rumors that we allegedly collected compromising material on Mr. Trump when he was visiting Moscow. Well distinguished colleague let me tell you this, when president trump visited Moscow back then I didn’t even know he was in Moscow I treat president Trump with the utmost respect. But back then when he was a private individual-business nobody informed me that he was in Moscow… Do you think that we try and collect compromising material on each and everyone (all businessman in Moscow)…?”
Newt Gingrich tweeted about the summit:
President Trump must clarify his statements in Helsinki on our intelligence system and Putin. It is the most serious mistake of his presidency and must be corrected—-immediately.

President Trump never comes down on the intelligence agency he simply states that they have dropped the ball recently. He felt Putin seemed very sincere. But this is a Diplomacy meeting with the purpose of bettering US-Russian relations. Even if Trump were to think otherwise it is not something to be said nonchalantly. He would need absolute proof of Putin and the Russian government’s involvement, not just some random Russian citizen involvement.
As you can tell from that journalists question there was definitely some bias there. But there is never a time that the MSM will give up on their Trump bashing.
