Yesterday Three Senators Voted Against Repeal and Replace Healthcare Reform.
Majority vote fell flat as Sen. McCain of Arizona, Sen. Paul of Kentucky and Sen. Murkowski of Alaska, voted against their voters and party on the repeal of Obamacare. Their decision gave the majority vote to Democrats, causing the bill to fail for the second time.
There wasn’t any real expectation for Senator John McCain to vote for the repeal. McCain has made it blatantly clear from the beginning he doesn’t support it. However, supporters were floored by the actions of Senator Murkowski, Alaska has had the highest premiums increase since the healthcare reform was rolled out.
President Trump quickly took to Twitter to express his disappointment.
The president has faith Senator Rand Paul will honor his voters and support the Bill. “I know Rand Paul and I think he may find a way to get there for the good of the Party!” President Trump Tweeted earlier this morning.
News of the Senators betrayal to their voters continues to spread upset and Twitter member are not holding back. Taking no time at all to criticise McCain and the other senators. McCain fastly becoming memes titled #Traitor and #TraitorMcCain. John McCain may not be the only senator to vote against repealing Obamacare but he has been the largest Republican advocate against it, and supporters are outraged.
The House earlier this year passed an ObamaCare replacement measure. But the Senate has failed on at least two tries, frustrating Trump who made a major campaign promise of dismantling former President Barack Obama’s signature 2010 health care law.
No Democrats support congressional legislation to end the law.
Under the Cassidy-Graham bill, states would have more flexibility in managing federally-backed health insurance by giving states funds through block grants.
