Son Of Fallen Officer Cared For By His Brothers In Blue

The Mainstream Media loves to bash on officers, dehumanizing them and making it seem like they are out to get people. It is a tough job being a Police Officer. They deal with the public at their worst all in the name of keeping the Peace. The whole purpose of the job is to keep us all safe. But this job is not an easy job, in fact, these men and women put their lives on the line for us and sometimes they pay for it with their lives.

Police Officer Rob Pitts,45, paid this price. He lost his life in the line of duty. He had served his community for over 16 years. Pitts was loved in the community and within the force.

Rob is deeply missed, but we are grateful for the time we had with him. Thank you for your continued prayers,’ Terre Haute police spokesman Ryan Adamson said Saturday.

Pitts left behind a family including a 5-year-old son, Dakota. Today was his first day back to school and he was a little timid about going back.

“‘Dakota asked his mom if one of his dad’s friends could take him to school, so she kind of reached out to Rob’s friends and family,’ said Les Ham, Terre Haute Police Department detective.”

Dakota got more than he could have hoped for when 70 of his father’s brothers in blue showed up and gave their support. They then proceeded to give him a SWAT t-shirt while he walked in wearing his father’s badge.

“He will definitely know that his dad was a hero. Blood doesn’t always make family, and I think the blue family just went above and beyond,” said Kelli Jones, Officer Pitts’ sister.

You have got to be proud to know these are the kind of people protecting you.
