The President Makes Sure The MSM Hears About Sondland’s Exonerating Testimony

President Trump on Wednesday made sure to get the MSM’s attention so that he could show the public that he is not guilty of anything when it comes to the Ukraine incident. He directed the media to a quote from Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland. Sondland said that Trump wanted nothing from Ukraine and that there was no quid pro quo.

Speaking to reporters before departing on a scheduled trip to Texas, Trump claimed that Sondland’s testimony means “it’s all over” for the proceedings and that the House inquiry into Trump should come to a halt.

“I just noticed one thing and that would mean it’s all over,” Trump said on the White House lawn before reading from handwritten notes taken during Sondland’s testimony.

Sondland testified about a conversation with Trump where he asked the president what he wanted from Ukraine.

“And it was a very short, abrupt conversation,” the ambassador said. “He was not in a good mood. And he just said, ‘I want nothing. I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo. Tell Zelensky to do the right thing.’ Something to that effect.”

Despite Trump reading this direct quote from Ambassador Sondland the Dems are still convinced that Sondland’s testimony is a win because of other claims he made. Sondland claims that Ukraine did work under Guiliani’s guidance but then later claims he has no idea what the quid pro quo was or could not prove that there was any.

Sondland, however, was less clear about whether Trump, through Giuliani, had conditioned the release of nearly $400 million in military aid to Ukraine on the public announcement of the desired investigations.

In his opening statement, Sondland said, despite having “tried diligently” to discover why the aid was suspended, he “never received a clear answer.”

“In the absence of any credible explanation for the suspension of aid, I later came to believe that the resumption of security aid would not occur until there was a public statement from Ukraine committing to the investigations of the 2016 election and Burisma, as Mr. Giuliani had demanded,” he said.

Under questioning from Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, Sondland said it was his “personal presumption, based on the facts at the time,” that he ultimately thought the military assistance to Ukraine was being withheld pending an announcement by Zelenskiy to open the sought-after investigations.”

So, in other words, he has no proof that there is any quid pro quo and Sondland is only presuming that the U.S. released the military aid due to their cooperation. Sondland seems to be all over the place when it comes to his answers. Despite what the MSM and the House Dems may say they don’t seem to be any closer to the supposed smoking gun. This is looking more and more like a huge waste of time, another witchhunt.
