Watch As Chris Cuomo Unintentional Proves Trump Right Live On CNN
CNN’s Chris Cuomo thought he was being clever when he tested Trump’s theory about phone calls live on CNN. But he quickly learned that Trump was right, although he didn’t admit it. This all about the testimony of David Holmes who claims he could hear a whole telephone conversation play out when he was sitting near Trump.
“David Holmes, a political counselor at the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, has testified about a phone call between President Trump and EU ambassador Gordon Sondland on July 26 while Sondland, Holmes, and other embassy staffers were eating lunch at a restaurant in Ukraine.
Holmes testified that he overheard both sides of the phone call — both what Sondland was saying, and what the president was saying over the phone, even though the call was reportedly not on speakerphone. Holmes testified that the president was speaking so loudly that he overheard him asking Sondland about “investigations” Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky had agreed to.”
Trump claimed that someone else in the room can’t understand both sides of a telephone conversation unless the speakerphone was on and in this case, it wasn’t. He said as much on Twitter.
“I have been watching people making phone calls my entire life. My hearing is, and has been, great. Never have I been watching a person making a call, which was not on speakerphone, and been able to hear or understand a conversation. I’ve even tried, but to no avail. Try it live!”
Cuomo decided to try it live.
“Very interesting theory from our president,” Cuomo said, starting a phone call with his mother. “He’s never been able to hear a phone call when it wasn’t on speakerphone—from anybody. So let’s just play with that for a second. Mom can you hear me?”
Cuomo then tried to get CNN correspondent Dana Bash to understand his mom, and say ‘hello’ to his mom from two feet away, neither Bash or Cuomo could understand the mother.
“Then [Cuomo] turned on speakerphone and asked again, and his mother said, “I hear you.” But when he turned speakerphone off, they went back to not being able to hear each other, just as Trump said would happen.”

He clearly wasn’t thinking this through. If he had he would have tried it off the air first, as his whole point was to prove Trump wrong. But instead, he just proved Trump right, live to his liberal audience. He has to feel foolish about this one.
