After California Stadium Refused To Play National Anthem, Patriots In The Crowd Took Matters Into Their Own Hands

It seems like sports and patriotism is a theme in the news. But most of the time those stories are about how a sports team feels the need to disrespect the flag in the name of protest. These stories are disheartening and it’s a wonder that these leagues like the NFL allow such disrespect for any length of time. This story is about the fans in the stands that had had enough of this anti-patriotic movement. When the announcer said they would just start the game without the anthem they took action.

A High School Softball Game in Fresno, California was about to do just that skip past the National Anthem. They hadn’t expected so many proud Americans in the stands.

The crowd stepped up and without any music to guide them started singing The National Anthem. They are not professionals and this was not a publicity stunt. These were Americans taking a stand to respect their flag, country, and the people that serve to protect our freedoms.

Watch The Video Below.

This is something they should show to all of the NFL teams that can’t grasp the idea of American Pride.

Event coordinator Bob Kayajanian of the Central Section said it was a mistake on his part.

“The national protocol is the first game of the session you have the national anthem,” he said. “The games after that are just played. We got caught (off-guard). Both the teams turned to face the field and they all started singing the national anthem. They started to play some music and the people took that as the national anthem and they all started singing, which I think is obviously a wonderful thing to show off their patriotism.”

We try to follow with what normally gets done. It’s all a learning experience for everyone and (going forward) we’re playing the national anthem at every game.”

This is a movement in sports, I think all Americans could get behind.
