AOC Accidentally Endorses Social Security Privatization

Former coffee shop barista turned politician, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, shows she has no idea what she’s talking about in the most hilarious way. During an interview with CNN’s lapdog, Anderson Cooper, the greenhorn accidentally endorses privatizing Social Security.

According to Investors, during an interview on “60 Minutes,” Anderson Cooper put this question to Ocasio-Cortez: “When people hear the word socialism, they think Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela. Is that what you have in mind?”

Her response: “Of course not. What we have in mind — and what of my — and my policies most closely resemble what we see in the U.K., in Norway, in Finland, in Sweden.”

If that were true, then Ocasio-Cortez would have to abandon almost her entire economic agenda and embrace free-market economic policies. Because that’s what those countries have been doing.

Ocasio-Cortez says she wants to expand Social Security benefits. There’s no question that she’s unalterably opposed to privatizing the federal pension program. But two of the countries she cites as role models have partially privatized their social security programs to save taxpayer money and provide better retirements for their citizens.

A noobie mistake or does she have any idea what she’s purposing? Either way, it’s clear she knows zip about the countries she plans to model America after.

Her entire socialist proposal just gets more warped and scattered by the day…

Just a few moments later, Ocasio-Cortez suggested that the highest earners in America should pay tax rates of 60 to 70 percent to help pay to fight climate change.

“People are going to have to start paying their fair share in taxes,” Ocasio-Cortez told “60 Minutes” in an interview that will air Sunday. “[O]nce you get to, like, the tippy tops – on your 10 millionth dollar– sometimes you see tax rates as high as 60 or 70 percent. That doesn’t mean all $10 million are taxed at an extremely high rate, but it means that as you climb up this ladder you should be contributing more.”

The youngest woman ever to be elected to Congress said the funds brought in from such a dramatic tax hike would pay for the “Green New Deal,” which is a proposed program that seeks to eliminate carbon emissions and the use of fossil fuels in the U.S. entirely within 12 years.
