Everyday people’s lives are saved by the right to bear arms. This is true regardless of what Liberals say when it comes to their demand for gun control. Law abiding citizens need an advantage on criminals that wish to do them harm. The police are not always going to make it on time and when a family is in danger a gun will equal the playing field to keep the family safe. A mother in Anderson County, SC, was thankful that she has bought a firearm after a man tried to break into her home.
Early Thursday morning mother, Ashley Jones, was surprised to hear knocking on her door at 6 AM. She went for her gun and called 9-1-1.
“He was like, ‘this is my house, let me in. I’m not going to hurt you’ kind of thing, and I was like ‘What do you want?'” Jones said. “After I called the police, I grabbed a gun and went to the top of the steps and was like, ‘I have a gun. I will shoot you. Do not come in my house.'”
The man then went around back accompanied by a woman to the back door. They tried to get in that door but were unable to so. They circled back around trying the garage before heading back to the front door. The man decided then that he was going to get into the house by force. He kicked the front door in.
“Something just came over me, and I got calm. My heart slowed down and I got focused. I told myself if he comes in here, you can’t let him get past your doorstep. You have three young children to protect.”
Jones fired hitting the unknown invader in the shoulder. He tried to run off but the police showed up and apprehended him.

She successfully defended her family. Jones is thankful that she had a gun on hand to defend her home.
“Because if I didn’t have any kind of weapons I don’t know what I would have did. That guy was kind of big,” she said. “I wouldn’t have been able to fight him off. I never thought I would have to shoot that gun, ever.”
Jones luckily has surveillance cameras set up and was able to show the police the whole incident. The incident is still being looked into and there is no known association between Jones and the invader.
