Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg was at the Human Rights Campaign gala in Las Vegas on Saturday. He claimed the right is responsible for the polarized nature of politics we have between Dems and Republicans. If that were not enough he called the border wall a fantasy that will never happen.
He started off with another Dem favorite identity politics.
“Now I’d like to comment on one of the buzz words of our time, so-called identity politics. No one knows quite what to make of it today. When the phrase is used, it’s usually to wave away our attention from some of the things that make our lived experiences different, and the political implication of those differences.
Many of the objections come from the right which is ironic at this time because the current administration has mastered the practice of the most divisive form of such politics, peak white identity politics designed to drive apart people with common interests.”
What is divisive about record lows when it comes to unemployment or the want to keep Americans safe at the border? Why do Dems call it divisive to want people to come here legally? We should want people to follow our laws. The divide is not because of Trump. The divide is due to Dems apathy towards Americans. If they gave half a …. then they would be working with Trump on the border, our infrastructure or one of the many things our country needs.
Buttigieg then went on to talk about the supposed crisis in our country and how he dislikes walls.
“But being gay just like every other fact about me, from where I grew up to what I look like means I have a story. If I look to that story, I can find the building blocks not only for empathy but for impetus to action. The more you know about exclusion, the more you think about belonging, and we have a crisis of belonging in this country.”
“The wall I worry about the most is not the president’s fantasy wall on the Mexican Border, that is never gonna get built anyway…”
“What every gay person has in common with every excluded person of any kind is knowing what it’s like to see a wall between you and the rest of the world and wonder what it’s like on the other side.”
“I am here to build bridges and to tear down walls.”

The Dems should be thanking Trump, he is stepping in where they are unwilling to. He is strengthening our border and defending the very Americans that Dems are failing to help. But instead, we have Dems like Buttigieg here that mock border security and believe Trump is the problem.
