Maxine Waters made a foolish statement this past weekend, well more so than usual. She incited people to harass and protest Trump Supporters. She encouraged the poor behavior of the protesters. Behavior like leaving a charred decapitated animal on a doorstep or protesting at the home of the DHS secretary. But this time Maxine has gone too far and has become the target of GOP lawmakers.
“If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd,” Waters told a gathering Saturday. “And you push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome any more, anywhere!”
An Arizona lawmaker, Rep. Andy Biggs, has put forth a censure measure for Waters, to get her to apologize, make a retraction, and resign.
“Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) said the California Democrat’s comments do “not become somebody who’s in Congress,” arguing disciplinary action is appropriate.
“So we just introduced it, we have some co-sponsors, but what she did was to basically incite people to come after and attack members of the president’s cabinet,” Biggs told The Hill. “And also spread that out to more people.”
He tweeted about the measure.
“Tonight, I introduced a resolution to censure and condemn Maxine Waters for her recent comments, that encouraged actions that jeopardized the safety of government officials. Her rhetoric, as a Member of Congress, was unacceptable.”
Waters of course now claims that she never meant anything but a peaceful protest, and has not backed down from her statement. In fact, she claims that the Democrats who spoke out were not necessarily against her.

Schumer and Pelosi both came out against Waters but did not use her name. They instead tried to make her action seem as if they were caused by the Trump Admin.
Pelosi Tweeted the following.
“In the crucial months ahead, we must strive to make America beautiful again. Trump’s daily lack of civility has provoked responses that are predictable but unacceptable. As we go forward, we must conduct elections in a way that achieves unity from sea to shining sea.”
Trump also weighed in on Waters.
“Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!”
Rep. Biggs claims so far there are only five people backing the measure, but it is still new and Maxine has not shown any sort of remorse for her comments. So after seeing her apathy perhaps the measure will start to gain traction. We can only hope.
