Judge TS Ellis announced in court that he is under federal protection because of the many death threats he has received. He then turned down a request from the far left media that wanted him to release the names and the addresses of the jury.
He said he might release it after the trial but he doesn’t want jurors, who are not sequestered, to be intimidated into voting guilty by the far left. But, of course, that is exactly why the media wants the names and addresses. The liberal media would never attack a conservative, but they will gladly hold the coats for those who do.
BREAKING: #Manaforttrial judge won’t release names of jurors citing safety reasons. Says he is under 24/7 US Marshals protection after threats and said “I had no idea this case excited this emotion in the public.”
Ellis made the comments after a coalition of news organizations — including The Washington Post, The New York Times, Associated Press, CNN, NBC, Politico, and BuzzFeed — requested the names and addresses of jurors seated for Manafort’s case.
“There is no reason to believe that extraordinary circumstances exist that would justify keeping jurors’ names sealed — particularly after they have rendered their verdict,” their motion reads.
But Ellis disagreed, and rejected the motion for fear the jurors would be subject to the same harassment he has received.
