Fed Judge ‘Shocked’ And Dumbfounded’ By Feds: What They Did For LYING Clinton Staffer!
A Federal Judge unapologetically accused career State Department officials of lying and signing bogus affidavits in order to ‘derail’ impending lawsuits that former Secretary Hillary Clinton faced. The Judge said in a heated hearing Friday the affidavits were ‘clearly false’ and deliberately impeded lawsuits that were seeking information about Clinton’s private email server.
According to Fox News, U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth said he was “shocked” and “dumbfounded” when he learned that FBI had granted immunity to former Clinton chief of staff Cheryl Mills during its investigation into the use of Clinton’s server, according to a court transcript of his remarks.
“I had myself found that Cheryl Mills had committed perjury and lied under oath in a published opinion I had issued in a Judicial Watch case where I found her unworthy of belief, and I was quite shocked to find out she had been given immunity in — by the Justice Department in the Hillary Clinton email case,” Lamberth said during Friday’s hearing.
The Department of Justice’s Inspector General (IG), Michael Horowitz, noted in his report that it was “inconsistent with typical investigative strategy” for the FBI to allow Mills to sit in during the agency’s interview of Clinton during the email probe, given that classified information traveled through Mills’ personal email account. “[T]here are serious potential ramifications when one witness attends another witness’ interview,” the IG wrote.
The Judge is right for being outraged. The DOJ began granting immunity before a full investigation was even conducted.
The arrangements with the Feds, detailed by Chaffetz bring the total number of publicly known immunity deals in the Clinton case to five before the End of 2016!
Chaffetz first revealed the additional deals in an interview with The Associated Press, saying “no wonder they couldn’t prosecute a case.” He said Mills gave federal investigators access to her laptop on the condition that findings couldn’t be used against her.
“Immunity deals should not be a requirement for cooperating with the FBI,” Chaffetz said in his statement.
Chaffetz said the two others granted immunity were John Bentel, then-director of the State Department’s Office of Information Resources Management, and Clinton aide Heather Samuelson.
