ICE Made A Massive bust from within a sanctuary city. The types of crimes the majority of the detainees have racked up are enough to make you sick.
According to Town Hall, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an agency many Democrats want to abolish, recently conducted a raid in Newark, New Jersey and arrested dozens of illegal aliens. The overwhelming majority have serious criminal records.
ICE targeted Illegal aliens who had been incarcerated in the Middlesex County Jail and released into the community by local law enforcement without notice to federal immigration officials. The aliens arrested had ICE detainers that were not honored. Newark is a “sanctuary city.”
Of those arrested, 16 subjects had been previously released by MCJ without honoring the ICE detainer and 78% had prior criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.
The individuals arrested as part of the operation were nationals of Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, and Turkey,” ICE released Friday. “These individuals range from 21 to 68 years old and all were previously arrested or convicted of a variety of offenses.
Some of the arrests and convictions included: aggravated criminal sexual contact, aggravated assault, DUI, hindering apprehension, endangering the welfare of a child, battery, theft, burglary, possession of a weapon, forgery, domestic violence assault, disorderly conduct, and illegal entry.
Abolish ICE? This is exactly the type of ludicrous extreme-left thinking President Trump pointed out in his tweet Thursday. Saying that Democrats have a “death wish” for wanting to destroy the very agency meant to protect American citizens from people who are here illegally. A large number of whom have extensive and sometimes violent criminal records.
“The Democrats have a death wish, in more ways than one – they actually want to abolish ICE. This should cost them heavily in the Midterms. Yesterday, the Republicans overwhelmingly passed a bill supporting ICE!” – Trump Tweeted.
Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Wis., lead the legislative charge to abolish ICE, introducing legislation that would accomplish the deed. Here’s how he described the process that legislation would set in motion: “[M]y bill would dissolve ICE within six months and create a commission to provide recommendations to Congress on how the US government can implement a humane immigration enforcement system that upholds the dignity of all individuals. The commission would then transfer necessary functions that do not violate basic human rights to other agencies.”
