Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris is livid about the outcome of the Manafort case. She feels that he got a slap on the wrist with a 4-year sentence, compared to the 20-24 years that he was supposed to get.
Harris feels that justice is not being served. She said as much whiling campaigning for president in South Carolina.
“The former prosecutor ripped into Manafort, bemoaning that someone “who’s committed fraud, who’s clearly been involved in crimes that should rightly be thought of as against the very being of who we are and what is in our collective best interest, gets off with 47 months” in prison, while others get harsher sentences for marijuana possession.”
“In Manafort’s case, Harris countered Friday, “One, the sentence does not match the crime. Two, we are looking at further evidence in America’s judicial system of absolute unfairness.”
She told the crowd at a Myrtle Beach restaurant that white-collar criminals should be held to the same standard as other criminals.”
Trump also weighed in on the sentencing of his former associate.
“When Judge T.S. Ellis sentenced former Trump campaign director Paul Manafort to 47 months of jail-time this week, Trump translated the prison term as a personal victory.”
Trump tweeted the following after hearing the news about Manafort.
“Both the Judge and the lawyer in the Paul Manafort case stated loudly and for the world to hear that there was NO COLLUSION with Russia. But the Witch Hunt Hoax continues as you now add these statements to House & Senate Intelligence & Senator Burr. So bad for our Country!”
There is a big difference between white collar and blue collar crime. As a former prosecutor, Harris should kn0w this. Is she more upset because of the who, in that, it is an associate of Trump?
Trump does have a point he keeps on getting cleared of all charges and the Dems keep on coming at him with more investigations. It is past a mere formality of a routine investigation. The Dems seem to be out for blood and they are not giving up until they find it.
