Megyn Kelly Reportedly Fired Over ‘Black-Face’ Comments [Video]

Earlier this week Megyn Kelly had a segment about how people are becoming too PC when it comes to Halloween. She brought up a story about Kent State and how they banned the students from being cowboys as it was somehow offensive. During the discussion, Kelly claimed that back when she was a kid it was ok to do blackface for Halloween, as long as it was a character.

What is racist?” said Kelly. “You do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface for Halloween or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. Like back when I was a kid it was okay if you were dressing up as a character.”

This simple comment caused NBC to fire her within 48 hours even after she apologized. She proved that we are getting too PC if a word can’t even be mentioned without severe repercussions. But this is not the first time Blackface has been mentioned. Liberals have even dressed up as black folk for bits and they were fine.

Outspoken Late Night Hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon both pretended to be black folk for the sake of comedy. Kimmel impersonates a basketball player and Fallon did a Chris Rock impersonation. Both of them are white men pretending to be black men.

But surprisingly they are both doing well, in fact, Kimmel at the time was on “The Man Show,” and did not lose his show over pretending to be black. But maybe this is just because of his political standing. Kelly failed to realize that she can’t be candid on news stations outside of Fox. She lost her job because her audience and network are trying to overwrite the past. They can’t handle that people at one time could take a joke. She should have picked up on the change in the social environment. Its like she was saying about Kent University dressing as a cowboy is seen as offensive. She should have known that if a cowboy costume was seen as offensive that just uttering the word blackface would trigger her station’s  PC audience.

But at least she won’t be leaving empty handed as it is rumored NBC will have to buy her out for 69 million dollars.
