Nurse Once Accused Of Ending 8 Babies Arrested Again Over 6 More

A British nurse has been rearrested by British authorities in connection to the deaths of eight babies. This is Lucy Letby‘s second time being arrested for potentially murdering babies.

A nurse has been rearrested by police investigating the deaths of babies at the Countess of Chester Hospital’s neo-natal unit. Lucy Letby was first arrested in July last year on suspicion of the murder of eight babies and the attempted murder of another six.

She has now been rearrested in connection with the attempted murder of three additional babies, police said. Cheshire Police are probing the deaths of 17 infants between 2015 and 2016.”

Detective Inspector Paul Hughes, who is in charge of the investigation, said: “I would like to remind people that due to the nature of this investigation it is extremely challenging and remains very much active and ongoing. There are no set timescales for this and we would ask people to bear with us whilst we continue with our enquiries.

“We remain committed to carrying out a thorough investigation as soon as possible and I want to reassure people that we are doing everything we can, as quickly as we can, to identify what has led to these baby deaths and collapses.”

Letby had been on bail since last July. Police confirmed the suspect “has been bailed pending further enquiries.” A spokesperson for the Countess of Chester Hospital told the BBC it was “cooperating fully” with police.”

The murders were discovered back in 2017 when The Countess of Chester Hospital noticed an unusually high rate of infants deaths.

Police launched a probe into the neo-natal unit at Countess of Chester Hospital in May 2017.

The hospital trust raised the alarm itself following the high number of fatalities between March 2015 and July 2016.

Medics launched an internal inquiry after finding the premature babies had collapsed with heart and lung failure but were unusually impossible to resuscitate.

A report later found the babies developed strange blotches on their arms and legs after death.

Experts could not find a cause of death and police were called in to investigate in 2017.”

You have to wonder why would they let this woman post bail? They are arresting her again on suspicion of killing more babies. They should lock her up and throw away the key if she ends up being the killer. The Death Penalty is too easy for this one.
