Snowflakes Start Petition Begging Super Bowl Performers to Take a Knee

As many plan to sit out the Superbowl this year in protest of the players insistent kneeling to the anthem, liberals kick start a new petition.

This time they’re begging the performers to join the players in taking a knee.

Question is, who will even be watching to see it aside from liberals and maybe a few diehard fans?

As of Wednesday, the Change.org petition had garnered more than 85,000 signatures, Fox News reported. The petition said it appears the artists weren’t going to back out despite several celebrities calling for a boycott and a separate petition getting 85,000 signatures before the performers were confirmed.

“Show the hundreds of millions of people watching that you stand in solidarity with Kaepernick and all players who protest police brutality,” the petition read. “Use this opportunity to force the NFL to change their policy.”

News that Travis Scott would be performing with Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl first leaked out in December, but three weeks passed before the performance was officially announced, according to Variety.

“I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in.  I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation,” he said in a statement. “I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.”

That announcement only came after Scott announced that he and the NFL would donate $500,000 to the non-profit social-justice organization Dream Corps. The move was clearly intended to blunt the criticism Maroon 5 and particularly Scott had received for performing at the game, due largely to the league’s treatment of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has essentially been banished from professional football for taking a knee during the pre-game performances of the national anthem.
