Ted Cruz is on fire recently just dominating Dems on Twitter with facts. This time he went after Bernie Sanders who complimented china for eradicating its poverty problem. Cruz came down on the misplaced comment and burned Bernie in the process.
Bernie Sanders complimenting China via The Hill TV:
“What is your view of China today. Do you believe China represents an existential threat to the American worker?” asked Krystal Ball.
“No,” Sanders responded.
“I wouldn’t use the word existential threat. You know,” he continued. “I think China is a country that is moving unfortunately in a more authoritarian way, in a number of directions. We would have hoped that they would move toward a democratic, a more democratic form of government, they’re moving in the opposite direction.”
“But what we have to say about China, in fairness to China and its leadership, is if I’m not mistaken, they have made more progress in addressing extreme poverty than any country in the history of civilization,” Sanders said.
OK? So they’ve done a lot of things for their people,” he concluded.
“This is not the first time Cruz has flattened Sanders, whom he must regard as his own personal punching bag. In February 2017 they debated healthcare, and Cruz lacerated Sanders several times. He forced Sanders to admit that former President Barack Obama lied about Obamacare and destroyed Sanders’s socialist philosophy after agreeing that corruption permeates Washington, D.C., then turning to Sanders and saying, “If the problem is that government is corrupt, why on Earth would you want more power in Washington?”
Sanders didn’t stand a chance against Cruz this time. Maybe next time Sanders will say no comment instead of just answering off the cuff like that especially if he doesn’t know any better.
