The Trump Administration made a big move for the Pro-Life Movement as they are trying to make the world know that abortion is not as ok as Liberals and pro-abortionists would have you believe. The HHS Secretary made it clear that if the U.N. is supposed to neutral. They shouldn’t be promoting the killing of unborn babies in their official documents.
“Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar asked the United Nations on Monday to remove what he referred to as pro-abortion language from official documents…”
“We do not support references to ambiguous terms and expressions, such as sexual and reproductive health and rights in U.N. documents, because they can undermine the critical role of the family and promote practices, like abortion, in circumstances that do not enjoy international consensus and which can be misinterpreted by U.N. agencies,” Azar said at a General Assembly meeting on universal health.
“Such terms do not adequately take into account the key role of family in health and education, nor the sovereign right of nations to implement health policies according to their national context,” he continued. “There is no international right to an abortion and these terms should not be used to promote pro-abortion policies and measures.”
“Azar made his remarks on behalf of the U.S. and several other nations whose officials were present, including Bahrain, Belarus, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Saudi Arabia. Abortion is banned in several of the represented nations, such as Iraq, and only permitted to save the life of the mother or preserve her physical health in others, such as Saudi Arabia, according to the Guttmacher Institute.”
“This letter just shows how they are trying to erode international consensus and roll back the clock for women and girls,” said Shannon Kowalski, director of advocacy and policy at the International Women’s Health Coalition.
“It’s not just abortion that they care about, they care about women’s ability to exercise autonomy over their bodies and about denying them critical access to the services they need.”
This is a good thing. Abortion should not be seen as a casual thing. The organizations that we are involved with should not be promoting it. Especially if they are looking to be funded by us.
