Debra Messing, known for her role on “Will & Grace,” went on Twitter demanding that the names of conservatives be listed for a Trump fundraising event so that Hollywood Liberals could blacklist them. She thought she could just attack the livelihood of conservatives and no one would care. But she was in for a surprise as she found that Trump saw her ill-intended tweet and rebuked her.
It all started when Messing’s former co-star Eric McCormick tweeted the following:
“Hey, @THR, kindly report on everyone attending this event, so the rest of us can be clear about who we don’t wanna work with. Thx.”
He was referring to a Beverly Hills Fundraising event for Trump
The public, of course, called him out for his discrimination but Messing joined him responding:
“Please print a list of all attendees, please. The public has a right to know.”
“I have not forgotten that when it was announced that I was going to do The Apprentice, and when it then became a big hit, helping NBC’s failed lineup greatly, @DebraMessing came up to me at an Upfront & profusely thanked me, even calling me “Sir.” How times have changed!”
Messing came back at him by dodging the subject entirely…
“So! I woke up this morning to my phone notifications going crazy. I got scared. I thought “Oh NO! Don’t tell me there is a 3rd mass shooting this weekend! Don’t tell me the Bahamians have lost their homes, their Lives by Hurricane #dorian!
It was Trump. NOT CALLING McConnell and demanding an end to the recess, and an emergency meeting to pass the gun violence bills passed by the House months ago. NOT reversing his decision to move $155 MILLION DOLLARS from FEMA Disaster Fund to ICE. Nope. What was on Trump’s mind in the midst of such tragedy, was me. The LAST thing that should be on his mind or in his tweets.”
The president was simply defending Americans from persecution. That is part of his job. Messing should have known better than to go after Americans for their beliefs. She has no excuse and that’s why she lashed out thinking she could distract everyone from the discrimination she was trying to impose.
