Trump was once again irrationally scrutinized. This time by billionaire Tom Steyer. Steyer is a hedge fund manager who has become a political activist as of late. He like many Liberals suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Steyer has been advocating for the impeachment of Trump. He feels that most Americans are fed up with Trump and has made a site to push for his impeachment. On Sunday, Steyer was on CNN being interviewed by Jake Tapper. During the interview, Steyer explained that he felt Trump was to blame for the recent political violence.
“I think his response to the tragedy [Saturday] was appropriate, but there’s something much bigger than that going on here, which is the atmosphere that he’s created — and that the Republican Party has created — in terms of political violence,” Steyer said. “If you look across the political scene, what you see is routine, systematic lawlessness. … We see it in a president who has been breaking the law systematically, as a candidate, as a businessman, and as a president.”
Tapper brought up some cases where Republicans had been under attack by the Democrats. Steyer backpedaled a little in response perhaps realizing he was being irrational.
“I would say there has been bad behavior on both sides,” Steyer conceded, although he went on to characterize Tapper’s remarks as a “false equivalence” because, he said, Republicans behaved significantly worse. “You can’t find prominent Democrats who are leading chants with violent overtones. … all the kinds of attempts to play to people’s strongest emotions.”
I guess he has somehow forgotten about Maxine Waters who has called on Democrats to harass Conservatives.
Trump did not take this sitting down and responded to Steyer’s slight on Twitter.
“Just watched Wacky Tom Steyer, who I have not seen in action before, be interviewed by @jaketapper. He comes off as a crazed & stumbling lunatic who should be running out of money pretty soon. As bad as their field is, if he is running for President, the Dems will eat him alive!”
“@realdonaldtrump just tweeted at me in his typical insulting style after watching @CNNsotu. It is unthinkable that in the midst of the horrible political violence our president would resort to name-calling instead of repairing the damage to the fabric of our country.”
This from the man that called Trump a criminal. Maybe he could use his money a little more wisely and instead of wasting millions on an anti-Trump campaign.
Trump did not respond directly to Steyer but made a more general response. He commented about how the MSM and interviews like the above with Steyer are misleading Americans.
“The Fake News is doing everything in their power to blame Republicans, Conservatives and me for the division and hatred that has been going on for so long in our Country. Actually, it is their Fake & Dishonest reporting which is causing problems far greater than they understand!”
This rings true as Steyer believes that most Americans want Trump out because that is the narrative that the MSM is pushing.
