The now ex-bartender who assaulted the teenage Trump supporter must be wishing he had a time machine now! Following the attack back in July, the man became the face of looney liberals everywhere, lost his job, and now he’s facing the ultimate punishment- felony charges!
A Bexar County grand jury has indicted a 30-year-old San Antonio man who was arrested in July after he was captured on video grabbing a “Make America Great Again” cap from a teenager who was dining at a San Antonio Whataburger.
Bexar County court records show Kino Jimenez was indicted Wednesday on a charge of theft of person, which is a state jail felony. He was located in Universal City in July by San Antonio police robbery task force detectives who took him into custody on an arrest warrant, My Santonio reported.
According to Daily Mail, Kino Jimenez was arrested without incident at his Universal City home, San Antonio Police said Thursday night.
The former bartender is being charged with felony theft of a person. Bail has been set at $5,000.
Jimenez was the subject of a video that began to go viral on Wednesday, showing him confronting 16-year-old Hunter Richard about a MAGA hat the teen was wearing.
Richard says Jimenez came up to the table where he and friends were eating at a Whataburger and pulled his hat off his head, grabbing some of his hair with it.
Video then shows Jimenez throwing a cup filled with ice and soda at Richard, yelling ‘F*** the president!’ \
The original video was shared by the teenage victim’s friend on Twitter. From there it went viral and Kino’s world came crashing down.
Warning: Strong language.
“I support my President and if you don’t let’s have a conversation about it instead of ripping my hat off,” Mr Hunter told News 4 San Antonio.
“I just think a conversation about politics is more productive for the entire whole rather than taking my hat and yelling subjective words to me”.
He added: “I was looking at the comments by some people and they are like ‘this is uncalled for’ and other people are [have] mixed opinions. I didn’t think it would blow up to what it is now.”
The Whataburger attack was the start of multiple other reports of MAGA hat wearing Trump supporters being assaulted. At some point, shouldn’t this be tried as a hate crime? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
