Wait, He Was Serious? Avenatti Officially Withdraws From 2020 Elections
If you are like me and thought the pornstar Stormy Daniels’ lawyer was joking about running for president in 2020, you would be wrong. Apparently, Micheal Avenatti planned to actually run. Which means he also believed he stood a chance and had supporters.
Avenatti issued a formal letter stating that he has changed his mind about running for the oval office:
“After consultation with my family and at their request, I have decided not to seek the presidency of the U.S. in 2020,” Avenatti said in a statement shared on Twitter.
“I do not make this decision lightly — I make it out of respect for my family. But for their concerns, I would run.”
“I remain concerned that the Democratic Party will move toward nominating an individual who might make an exceptional president but has no chance of actually beating Donald Trump,” Avenatti said. “The party must immediately recognize that many of the likely candidates are not battle tested and have no real chance at winning.”
“We will not prevail in 2020 without a fighter,” he added. “I remain hopeful the party finds one.”
Avenatti became a regular on cable news networks because of the case, and in July he began discussing a potential presidential run.
But Avenatti’s relationship appeared to be at odds with Daniels after she claimed last week that he sued Trump for defamation without her permission. A federal judge dismissed the suit in October.
Daniels also said that Avenatti declined to tell her how much money he raised for her legal defense through a crowdfunding site.
If this made you laugh, you’re not alone. The good people of Twitter responded accordingly and some of their replies are absolutely PRICELESS. Here are a few of their responses:
Oh, so is everyone with absolutely no chance is supposed to formally declare it?
Here's mine: After absolutely no discussion with family, business associates and friends I have decided not to seek the office of President.
I feel better. Anyone else want to formally decline?

Seriously? Like you even had a chance. You should come down to South FLORIDA, I hear there are some strippers and porn stars that need representation. 😂

Avenatti was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence. His bail was set at $50,000, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Herrera told Fox News. He was bailed out and said he would be “fully exonerated,” According to Fox News.
“I have never struck a woman. I never will strike a woman. I have been an advocate for women’s rights my entire career and I’m going to continue to be an advocate. I am not going to be intimidated from stopping what I am doing,” Avenatti said last month. “I am a father to two beautiful, smart daughters. I would never disrespect them by touching a woman inappropriately or striking a woman. I am looking forward to a full investigation at which point I am confident I will be fully exonerated.”
TMZ, which first reported news of the arrest, said that the lawyer “kicked” a woman “out of the apartment.” The outlet initially reported that the alleged incident involved Avenatti’s estranged wife, before later describing the individual simply as a woman. The report, citing an unnamed law enforcement source, said the woman’s face was “swollen and bruised.”
Is it wrong that I wish he would run just to muddy up the growing circus around the Democratic party? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
