Oh, it is over for the Utah Rhino Mitt Romney. The already-unpopular Senator became the first Republican in history to vote to impeach a president from his own party. The same President who helped the failed politician get his seat in office by endorsing Romney’s- against all better judgment.
Romney, one of the most prominent Republican critics of former President Donald Trump, appeared before 2,145 registered delegates at the Maverik Center in the Salt Lake City suburb of West Valley City. As Romney walked up to the lectern to speak, he was loudly booed by the Republican crowd. There were also cheers for the former Republican presidential nominee, but the chorus of jeers seemed to drown them out as heard in videos posted online.
The Senator tried to appeal to voters by deflecting the outrage towards the crap-shoot job Biden is doing, “So, what do you think about President Biden’s first 100 days?” He was never allowed to finish that thought as the crowd continued to drown him out.
He then tried to address the elephant in the room but was again interrupted by the angry crowd, “Now you know me as a person who says what he thinks and I don’t hide the fact that I wasn’t a fan of our last president’s character issues.” Romney’s failed attempts to pander only served to further enrage attendees.
A hurt Romney asked the crowd, “Aren’t you embarrassed?”
The booing and heckling lasted over a minute, which prompted Utah GOP chair Derek Brown to intervene by walking up on stage and say, “My friends, this is the moment I was talking about, please show respect.” The crowd then applauded and Romney went back to delivering his speech at the GOP event.

Romney voted to convict President Donald Trump on the first article of impeachment, becoming the first senator ever to vote against his own party’s president in an impeachment trial. “This verdict is ours to render,” Romney said in his speech on the Senate floor, just casting his vote. “The grave question the Constitution tasks senators to answer is whether the president committed an act so extreme and egregious that it rises to the level of a ‘high crime and misdemeanor.’ Yes, he did.”
Prior to Trump’s enforcement, Romney didn’t stand a chance winning a seat at the local Waffle House. Utah voters couldn’t stand the guy before and now- I think it’s safe to assume they despise him.
