Watch: Rubio Rips Biden’s Bogus Anti-Crime Plan

Joe Biden thinks he’s finally found the reason to get voter’s approval to push his gun-grabbing gun control policies. Which I don’t think could have come at a more dangerous time as much of America is in the thick of it with the Democrat-back liberal defund movement. But, maybe that was the point that Democrats ever backed such a notion?

To me, they’re proving the necessity of having more reliable legal gun owners. However, to liberals, somehow the guns, not the criminals, has become the real root of the problem? I can’t even pretend to understand that notion.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio called Biden on his looney plan during an interview with Fox News, slamming the Dem for helping to create the problem just to push a bogus solution:

“Guns are the instrumentality that are being used, but the real target should be the criminals, it’s the criminals who are stealing guns and selling them in the streets to one another and committing these acts of violence,” he said.

“What we have seen all over the country in the last few months are really things out of a Hollywood movie except it’s real and it’s tragic, [like] shoot-outs on highways.”

Rubio said the current violent crime wave across the country is a result of politicians taking “crazy, nonsensical ideas”, running for and getting elected to office based on them, and then either implementing such illogical ideas or creating a perception that they will be enacting such policies.

“The ideas these people have are nuts and when you elect people who have these ideas it almost encourages and incentivizes these terrible outcomes,” he said.

Rubio said one top way to tamp down on crime is to show concrete support for the police and law enforcement – adding that the repeated rhetoric and actions being taken against police are creating a crisis in recruitment.

“I personally know a number of law enforcement officers who are seeking now to get on the retirement pathway. They have the opportunity to retire in the state of Florida, through a program called DROP, but many are forgoing that and retiring at a certain age and getting out,” he said.

“For the life of me, I don’t know how anybody can be encouraged to go in law enforcement given the rhetoric that surrounded that profession for the better part of a couple years. We have a brewing crisis where I think it’s going to get harder and harder to keep highly trained, highly competent police officers on the job and [get] good people in the profession moving forward.”

In recent days the media, as well as the White House, have begun to spin this narrative that somehow crime was as bad as it is now prior to the defund movement. As usual, trying to rewrite history to serve their own purpose. But lie as they might, they can’t change the numbers.

Based on preliminary FBI data, the US’s murder rate increased by 25 percent or more in 2020. That amounts to more than 20,000 murders in a year for the first time since 1995, up from about 16,000 in 2019, according to crime analyst Jeff Asher. The increase was also found in other data sets from the Council on Criminal Justice and Asher. Across these analyses, aggravated assaults and gun assaults — gun violence — also increased, even as crime overall fell.

As police across the nation faced budget cuts and general public pressure to not complete the tasks at hand.

According to Vox, the 2020 murder surge “is the largest increase in violence we’ve seen since 1960, when we started collecting formal crime statistics,” John Roman, a criminal justice expert at NORC at the University of Chicago, said. “We’ve never seen a year-over-year increase even approaching this magnitude.”
