So long New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. You ruled your state like a tyrannical dictator, causing countless deaths, and now only the fleas mourn you. Fleas like MSNBC Host Mehdi Hasan who has spent his blood-sucking career as a political activist for Democrats. He wined about Cuomo’s announced dismissal calling it a ‘sad day’ and claimed that Republicans are never held accountable.
It’s funny because I think most people would say that about Democrats. Just look at the Clintons and their tumultuous careers of ruining lives. We could also look at the Biden crime family and his son’s dealing with foreign nations and drugged-out past— But what would be the point? No one will ever investigate them.
Hasan was outraged that the attorney General who found Cuomo guilty of sexual harassment in her investigation was a Democrat. He was also outraged that other Democrats demanded Cuomo step down. He then changed his tune for a moment condemning Cuomo saying, “Democrats put pressure on one of their own, a Democratic attorney general opened up multiple investigations into the Democratic governor. Members of his own party finally held him accountable. And it worked.”
Hasan claimed that Republicans do not hold members accountable. Saying that Dems took on Cuomo “Unlike, wait for it, the other great political party in this country. I mean, Republicans.”
Nothing could be farther from the truth. Just look at Sen Mitt Romney who set out to ruin Donald Trump several times but each time an investigation was launched, Trump was cleared of any wrongdoing. It stands to reason that Cuomo’s guilt, not his party, is why he was forced out of his seat as Governor.
In an attempt to prove his point, Hasan even brought up Supreme Court Justices who were accused of sexual harassment:
“We have even seen this on the Supreme Court. Clarence Thomas was confirmed despite Anita Hill’s accusation of sexual harassment. So was Brett Kavanaugh more recently after Christine Blasey Ford’s accusation of sexual assault. Not a single Republican voted no on Kavanagh’s confirmation.”
Again, he failed to mention that these cases were investigated and cleared.
Hasan pouted, “today is a sad day for the Democratic Party. One of their stars, a man they were considering as a presidential candidate just a year ago, resigned in disgrace. But you could say, it’s a sadder day for American democracy because it’s a reminder that there are only consequences, there is only accountability for Democrats in our system. Not for Republicans.”
Call me crazy, but it seems rare that a Democrat is made to pay for a crime. Hasan’s argument to the contrary seems moot considering the only difference between Cuomo’s case and the ones the host mention is that an investigation found Cuomo guilty while the others were all cleared.
