Ted Cruz, On The Attack, Turns Sights On Gun Control

During Thursday’s address before heading out to the beach, Biden waged a war on lawful gun owners. Biden warned that no rights are ‘absolute’ and vowed to make gun control happen.

His list included “Banning high capacity magazines.  Raising the age to buy an assault weapon to 21.  Federal red-flag law.  Codifying my ban on ghost guns that don’t have serial numbers and can’t be traced.  And tougher laws to prevent gun trafficking and straw purchases.”

Biden later attacked gun manufacturers, “We should repeal the liability shield that often protects gun manufacturers from being sued for the death and destruction caused by their weapons.  They’re the only industry in this country that has that kind of immunity.”

Texas Sen Ted Cruz snapped back. As one of the first politicians at the school in Uvalde, Crus slammed Biden and spoke about what it would really take to make a change:

“Just about everybody agrees he’s doing a terrible job. Just about everybody agrees this is a train wreck. And you know what’s frustrating about it? He’s not willing to change. He’s not willing to change course. This speech tonight, once again he chose to double down on hard-Left divisive politics. Listen, I was at Uvalde last week the day after the shooting. I was there with the local officials and with law enforcement and with family members. What happened in Texas is horrific.

And anyone with any heartbeat is horrified that 19 little boys and girls were murdered, that two teachers were murdered. And what does Joe Biden and the Democrats do? They don’t come back and say, “Let’s unite behind law enforcement to stop criminals, to keep our kids safe.” Nope. They immediately demagogue and say the solution is to take away your weapons, to disarm law-abiding citizens.”

Watch

The hearing over gun-control Thursday got pretty heated between the two parties. It is expected to pass the House but doesn’t have the votes to survive a filibuster so, of course, Dems are threatening to abolish the filibuster again.
