Check Out Sen Hawley’s Letter To AG Garland In Response To Attacks On Conservatives

Biden sent the FBI out to hunt “MAGA” conservatives and that certainly seems to be what’s happening. SWAT agents reportedly raided the home of a pro-life Christian protester. By his own family’s accounts, the armed agents took Mark Houck of Pennsylvania into custody but the DOJ denies their first-hand accounts.

Missouri Republican Senator Josh Hawley Took Attorney General (AG) Merrick Garland to task in a very public letter that detailed recent attacks on pro-lifers and the DOJ’s lack of response:

“Clearly an attack on pro-life Christians,” a spokesman for the Catholic father of seven told Fox News Digital.

“This was clearly a message to the pro-life movement to get out of our way and comply,” Brian Middleton, a spokesman for Houck who was speaking in a personal capacity, said Monday.

Houck was arrested Friday at his rural Pennsylvania home in Kintnersville by the FBI. The arrest stemmed, reportedly, from an altercation he had with a Planned Parenthood escort in Philadelphia in October 2021. Houck is accused of pushing a 72-year-old man after the escort allegedly verbally harassed Houck’s 12-year-old son outside the clinic.

“If the shocking reports about the FBI arresting a man Friday in rural Pennsylvania are true, then you have a lot to answer for,” Hawley said in the letter to Garland.

“These reports state that federal authorities obtained a warrant under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act to arrest Mark Houck for allegedly committing a single count of simple assault by pushing a man near an abortion clinic,” he continued. “Houck contends that he only did so to defend his child against the man, and local authorities have already dismissed a separate criminal complaint against Houck for the conduct.”

“Not only did your office turn a local dispute into a national case, but the FBI reportedly executed the search warrant in as extreme a manner as one can image,” the Republican asserted.

A spokesperson for the FBI’s Philadelphia field office told Fox News that the SWAT claims are “inaccurate.”

The spokesperson said: “No SWAT Team or SWAT operators were involved. FBI agents knocked on Mr. Houck’s front door, identified themselves as FBI agents and asked him to exit the residence. He did so and was taken into custody without incident pursuant to an indictment.”

“As Houck’s wife said, when they saw 20 or more agents arrest their father at gunpoint, ‘the kids were all just screaming,’” Hawley said. “To say the least, using this kind of force to make an arrest for a single charge of simple assault is unprecedented.”

Hawley positioned the arrest against the DOJ seemingly sleeping on the dozens of attacks against pro-life pregnancy centers and churches by abortion extremists following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Not to mention the poor teenager who was just murdered in North Dakota. His alleged attacker reported admitted that the attack was politically motivated and claimed that the teen was a ‘republican extremist’.

“I want to know from Merrick Garland directly why Biden’s DOJ is arresting Catholic protestors like terrorists – complete with SWAT-style tactics – while letting actual terrorist acts like firebombings go unpunished,” he said.

As of right now, the Attorney General has not responded to Hawley’s letter.
