Morning Joe’s host Joe Scarborough was sticking up for PA incumbent Democrat John Fetterman after his epic loss to Dr. Oz in the debate this week. Fetterman proved that he is not capable of fulfilling his role in politics anymore as the Democrat struggled to form complete sentences. The whole thing was kinda sad to watch.
Scarborough took a fragment from the debate to form a nonsensical and untrue argument. He claimed that Dr. Oz wants politicians to make the final decision about abortion. Oz’s actual argument was that the federal government should be involved in such a sensitive matter.
“Any bill that violates what I said — which is the federal government interfering with the state rule on abortion — I would vote against,” he said.
Scarborough claimed that Oz was “talking about people in the Water Management District making decisions about life or death, life-or-death decisions on rape, incest, life of the mother.” In another instance, he asserted that Oz wanted “Parks and Recreation people” making those decisions.
Obviously a BS claim, but that’s where Scarborough wanted to take it. Here is what Oz actually said earlier in that debate:
“There should not be involvement from the federal government in how states decide their abortion decisions. As a physician, I’ve been in the room when there’s some difficult conversations happening. I don’t want the federal government involved with that at all. I want women, doctors, local political leaders, letting the democracy that’s always allowed our nation to thrive to put the best ideas forward so states can decide for themselves.”
Oz was arguing that officials, women, and doctors need to each have their voices brought to the table in the debate. He wasn’t suggesting Ted from parks and rec make that call…
Watch
Scarborough is a classic RHINO and practically stands against everything he once represented. The very fact that MSNBC continues to call him a Republican should be an insult to all Republicans.
