Sara Sidner‘s gun control segment on PBS and CNN International left a lot to be desired. She started off by exaggerating the number of mass shootings in 2022, and then went on to make the false claim that mass shootings are “uniquely American“. Throughout the interview with Dr. Joseph Safran, Sidner failed to refute any of his leftist allegations, instead just supporting the gun control agenda.
She didn‘t give any opposing views and didn‘t present any evidence to back her claims. Overall, Sidner‘s segment was one–sided and lacked any real attempt at providing a balanced discussion. It was clear that she was more interested in pushing her own agenda than presenting a fair and impartial analysis of the issue.
She stated that, “2022 will go down as the second highest year for mass shootings in the United States on record. That means more than 600 mass killings in the past 12 months alone, according to data compiled by the nongovernmental organization, Gun Violence Archive. The shootings come at a disturbing pace, often too fast to grasp — people going about their day suddenly gunned down in schools, supermarkets, night clubs, movie theaters, in the streets, you name it.”
She soon added: “Are these tragedies preventable? And why can’t we stop this uniquely American problem?”
The stats for 2022 showed that there were 36 mass murders involving guns across the world, not just in the US. And when you look at gun violence on a global scale, Mexico has a higher rate than the US. Europe even has more incidences with assault rifles. So, it‘s clear that the GOP isn‘t dealing with the reality of gun violence. It‘s just trying to push a narrative that‘s convenient for them.
Did I mention that the states she’s using include shooting at private residences? The facts matter…
You taxpayer dollars are hard at work here. PBS is clearly just another branch of the left-wing media and this is just another shining example of that.
