The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), the union representing the US Border Patrol, criticized the upcoming visit of President Biden to El Paso, Texas. Reports suggest that authorities have been detaining more migrants and uprooting encampments in the area in order to present a more favorable image of the situation.
The NBPC believes this is not a legitimate response to the current immigration crisis, and instead serves to conceal the true reality. They argue that the appearance of success should not be preferred over the search for meaningful solutions. The union has made clear their dissatisfaction with this approach.
“El Paso being cleaned up as if nothing unusual ever happened there,” the National Border Patrol Council tweeted Friday. “Just in time for Biden’s ‘visit to the border.’”

We suggest just landing in Des Moines, Iowa and telling him it's El Paso. He'll never know the difference.

“We suggest just landing in Des Moines, Iowa and telling him it’s El Paso. He’ll never know the difference,” the union wrote.
The National Border Patrol Council posted a tweet on Sunday expressing concern about the number of migrants detained in downtown El Paso. Reports by El Paso Matters and the New York Post said that Border Patrol and local law enforcement had increased their presence and detained a large number of migrants the night before President Biden‘s visit on Sunday.
Video footage from NBC News showed agents patrolling outside the migrant shelter at Sacred Heart Church. It was reported that six buses carrying mainly Venezuelan migrants left El Paso and traveled to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, with around 200 migrants sent back to Mexico on that day. The union is worried about the situation in El Paso and hopes the Biden administration will take appropriate measures.
“El Paso clears downtown of expansive migrant camps ahead of Biden visit,” tweeted Mayra Flores, R-Texas. “Why not show him what our border community and law enforcement officials are dealing with on a daily basis.”

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told Fox News Digital last week that agents are “beyond frustrated” that the president has allowed the border crisis to deteriorate as it has.
“He’s not coming to the border of his own accord,” Judd said. “He would have done that a long, long time ago.”
“Because you now have Democrats, his constituency, his base, now that they’re upset, now you’ve got Eric Adams, you’ve got the governor of Colorado,” he continued. “That’s the only reason that he’s coming to the border. And it’s two years too late.”
In short, everyone saw through Biden’s bogus border visit. Even the liberal news outlets are after him for this one.
