We’ve all seen it before: the liberal media is quick to throw their support behind President Joe Biden, no matter what the circumstances. This week, Stephen Colbert and former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain used The Late Show as a platform for Biden’s State of the Union address, and it was a prime example of the liberal media’s bias.
Instead of presenting an unbiased look at the speech, Colbert and Klain chose to focus on making Biden look like a political genius. They asked Klain if they had planned for the moment when the President falsely accused Republicans of wanting to cut Social Security and Medicare, to which Klain responded that it was Biden’s best impression of Harry Truman.
What Colbert and Klain failed to mention, however, is that Republican leaders have repeatedly denied that they are trying to cut Social Security and Medicare. Instead of addressing this, they chose to use the State of the Union as a partisan campaign speech.
This bias was also on display when Colbert accused the NFL and Kansas City Chiefs fans of racism in response to the Super Bowl. “It was a fun night of football, if you don’t count watching 30,000 people doing the tomahawk chop. Sadly, it looks like the NFL once again failed to ‘End racism.’”
The liberal media’s bias is doing a disservice to their viewers, as it keeps them from getting the full picture. Furthermore, Colbert’s hypocrisy is concerning. He is quick to point out racism in others, yet he is silent when it comes to the racism within the Democratic party.
It’s time for the liberal media to be held accountable for their actions and be held to a higher standard when it comes to presenting the facts. They need to stop pushing their own agendas and spreading misinformation about Republicans. The public deserves a fair and balanced understanding of the news, and the liberal media needs to do its part in providing it.
