It’s a story you’d never expect to read – a Chicago father, Terry Newsome, was put on a government flight watchlist after speaking out against pornographic and sexually explicit books in his children’s school library. In the summer of 2021, Newsome, along with several other parents in Chicago’s Downers Grove district, objected to certain books in children’s libraries. In December of 2022, when Newsome attempted to board a plane to Phoenix for Turning Point USA’s Amerifest conference in Arizona , he found out he’d been placed on a government flight watchlist.
He was given the “quad-S” designation which subjected him to far more screening than individuals with normal boarding passes. This included “full-body pat down[s],” having his hands and feet “swabbed to check for explosives,” and being required to remove every item from his bag “while the bag is thoroughly searched.” His family missed their original flight due to all of the extra screenings.
Newsome still isn’t quite sure why he was flagged as an SSSS flier but he thinks it could be related to his “past political activities.” After becoming a local spokesman for concerned parents in his kids school district, he received threats from Antifia and opposition from Illinois congressman Rep. Sean Casten. Following The Epoch Times‘ initial piece on Newsome’s outspokenness, he received online threats as well as threats from school board members connected with Casten. Additionally, attending the Jan 6 rally could have resulted in an automatic red flag against him by our current government authorities who are trying desperately trying silence dissenting voices across America; especially those of conservative Americans who want their right ot free speech protected at all costs!
Parents have the right decide what their children are exposed too within schools – they should not be punished or silenced simply because they disagree with something they feel is inappropriate material or content being displayed or taught within classrooms! It’s clear that there is an agenda by some powerful people who want control over what each person says and does; regardless if it violates our basic rights as humans beings!
