The past few months have been dominated by headlines about big tech censorship, election tampering, and Democrats, and the latest news about journalist Matt Taibbi is no different.
After Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz accused Taibbi of “cherry-picking” information from Elon Musk and profiteering off the Twitter Files, the journalist pushed back. He denied the allegation and pointed out that he had made and spent money he didn’t have before the release of the emails.
Wasserman Schultz then shifted the conversation to social media companies, claiming they were not responsible for allowing “MAGA extremists” to pose a threat to public safety and U.S. democracy.
Taibbi’s Twitter Files were released in December to reveal details surrounding Twitter executives’ political biases and the FBI’s correspondence with the company in the lead up to the 2020 presidential election. It showed that Twitter had been closely moderating former President Donald Trump’s account, employing “a vast array of tools for manipulating visibility” and covering it in bots. It also exposed the FBI’s warning of a possible “hack-and-leak” by “state actors” to influence the 2020 presidential election.
We’re living in an age where political censorship, corruption, and Democrats are becoming the norm. People like Matt Taibbi are shining a light on the truth and keeping powerful people and organizations accountable. But that’s not enough. We need to pay attention, stay informed, and take action if we want to make a real difference.
It’s time to put an end to the bullshit. We need to call out the corrupt politicians and tech giants who are trying to control the narrative and manipulate the public. We need to demand transparency and accountability from those in power. We need to make sure our voices are heard, and we need to make sure our rights are protected.
It’s time to fight back against the censorship and corruption that’s so prevalent in our society today. We can’t just sit back and let those in power dictate what we can and can’t say or do. Let’s take a stand and make sure our voices are heard.
