In today’s world, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between honest reporting and bias-driven propaganda. This has become particularly apparent when it comes to the way the mainstream media reports on President Donald Trump.
Take MSNBC’s Velshi show, and guest-host Ayman Mohyeldin’s 2015 accusations that Chris Kyle, the inspiration for the movie American Sniper, went on “killing sprees” while carrying out his duties as a Navy Seal in Iraq. Fast forward to the present and we have Mohyeldin giving aid and comfort to Washington Post investigative reporter, Carol Leonnig, who has written two very anti-Trump books with fellow Post reporter Philip Rucker.
Leonnig felt compelled to call out Trump’s “misinformation” when he posted on social media calling on supporters, in the context of his possibly imminent arrest, to “Protest. Take back our nation.”
Leonnig distorted the facts and spun Trump’s words into something they were not, by saying that Trump was “suggesting that jack-booted thugs are coming for him on Tuesday, and people will have to stop this from happening.” But, as we all know, that is not what Trump was saying at all. In reality, Trump was trying to gin up outrage at a Manhattan Democrat district attorney’s decision to arrest a former president of the United States for political reasons.
It’s clear that Leonnig, along with Mohyeldin, are attempting to use their platforms to push a false narrative against Trump, a narrative which was supported in part by the likes of Verizon, Chase, Constant Contact, Wayfair, and Subway. This is just another example of the left leaning media’s blatant bias against Trump, which has been going on since his election.
President Trump has been treated unfairly and unjustly since his election. The corruption in the Democratic Party has been exposed, from the Russia hoax to the Ukraine scandal, and yet the media continues to turn a blind eye. The liberal-biased reporters, like Leonnig and Mohyeldin, have their own agenda and it doesn’t involve reporting facts without bias.
It’s obvious that Trump has been targeted by the left, and it’s only getting worse. Even if you don’t like Trump you have to admit that he has a right to be outraged. Trump said that the media was the enemy of the people and biased reports constantly flaring up, you have to at least agree that we need reporters who just stick to the facts.
We need honest reporting, without any underhanded attempts to push an agenda, if we’re to have any hope of restoring our faith in the news media.
