It’s no surprise that Democrats, the liberal media, and their cronies are defending the insurrectionists who stormed the Tennessee state capitol. The idea of “protesting” by storming a government building with guns and other weapons should be universally condemned, not defended. But the left is so desperate to promote their gun control agenda that they are willing to defend the indefensible.
The latest example of this is the proposed expulsion of three members of the Tennessee state legislature for aiding in a gun-control protest that saw demonstrators storm the state capitol. MSNBC anchor Alex Witt asked if there could be a “domino effect with other Republican-led chambers that are literally silencing and removing lawmakers in this case, those that are just demanding legislative gun reform?”
Democratic State Senator Ryan Yarbro called the proposed expulsion “dangerous” and “abhorrent”, claiming it was “disproportionate” and “anti-democratic.” Micah Brooks, an activist with March for our Lives who organized the March 30 protest, told Witt that it was “completely horrifying, and it’s not acceptable.”
It’s absolutely outrageous that these “activists” are getting a pass for their actions. Storming a government building and demanding that lawmakers pass gun control laws is not acceptable in any civilized society. No matter how much the left tries to spin it, this isn’t a “peaceful protest” – it is an act of insurrection.
It was shameless how MSNBC drooled all over these insurrectionists while slamming law-abiding gun owners.
The Democrats, the liberal media, and their cronies can try to defend the indefensible all they want, but that doesn’t change the fact that these “activists” are breaking the law and should be held accountable for their actions. The Tennessee state legislature was right to propose the expulsion of these three lawmakers and they should be commended for standing up to this kind of lawlessness.
The left’s “ends justify the means” mentality is dangerous and must be opposed at all costs. We must never allow ourselves to be intimidated by radical leftists who are willing to use violence and intimidation to advance their political agenda. Law and order must always prevail.
