Pete Buttigieg’s tenure as Secretary of Transportation has been nothing short of disastrous.
From his lack of response to the supply chain crisis, to taking paid leave for months, to vacationing in Portugal as a nationwide rail strike loomed, to his alleged failure to prevent mass delays and cancellations at Southwest Airlines over the holidays, and his penchant for taking taxpayer-funded private jets instead of commercial planes, Buttigieg’s performance as transport secretary has been a total failure.
But even as he fails to deliver on his duties, Buttigieg has the audacity to mock Republicans for their focus on an important issue like men playing in women’s sports.
In an interview with The Daily Show’s Desi Lydic, Buttigieg said, “I do think that the culture wars are getting in the way sometimes. I mean, just the other day I was testifying in the appropriations subcommittee explaining how our budget was going to help with things like railroad safety, air traffic control, and other transportation needs, and we had to take a break so they could all go and vote on a bill to kick transgender teenagers off of sports teams.”
Apparently, Buttigieg believes that the issue of transgender athletes participating in women’s sports is a “culture war” that is getting in the way of important work like repairing bridges and increasing transportation safety. But Senator Ted Cruz begs to differ.
“What in the hell does Pete Buttigieg have to do to get fired?” Cruz asked. “Like in the history of this country, has there ever been a transportation secretary who has screwed more things up?”
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) echoed this sentiment, saying, “The recent train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio is nothing short of a tragedy. This is another transportation failure under Mayor Pete’s leadership. Where is he?”
Buttigieg’s attempts to mock and belittle Republicans for their focus on an important issue like men playing in women’s sports is typical of the woke left.
Secy. @PeteButtigieg tells the Daily Show: House Republicans' bill restricting transgender participation in women's sports is "really getting in the way of our ability to" repair bridges & railroads.

Instead of addressing the real issues that are impacting our lives, they are more concerned with pushing their radical agenda and furthering their own political ambitions. It’s time we hold these politicians accountable and demand that they do the job they were elected to do.
