Rep. James Comer has revealed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have an “ongoing investigation” into a document that may implicate former Vice President Joe Biden in a bribery scheme.
“Today FBI officials confirmed that the unclassified FBI generated record has not been disproven and is currently being used in an ongoing investigation,” Comer stated at a press meet. He further indicated that the document, called an FD-1023, was viewed by him, though he wasn’t granted possession of it. The Congressional Oversight and Government Accountability Committee head informed that he was enabled to take notes on the document.
“The confidential human source who provided information about then-Vice President Biden being involved in a criminal bribery scheme is a trusted, highly credible informant who has been used by the FBI for over ten years and has been paid over six figures. These are facts and no amount of spin, and frankly lies, from the White House or congressional Democrats can change this information,” Comer added.
The Bureau has rebuffed Congressional demands to hand over the FD-1023 and Comer has commented that he is to press charges of contempt on FBI Director Christopher Wray for not sharing the mentioned document.
The FBI countered that providing the document to the full committee might damage an active inquiry approved by a judge, the Bureau has discussed, as well as put informants in danger.
Comer controlled that the investigation may be having its roots in Delaware where the United States Attorney David Weiss is probing Hunter Biden for breach of the federal tax code and probably lying on a government firearms form.
“We believe due to the fact that it is not classified, this is not a classified document, that this is an important part of our investigation and we want to have this document in hand,” he concluded.
