This morning, CNN expressed their strong disapproval of Republican representatives for censuring Congressman Adam Schiff (CA). According to the news network, the House of Representatives acted with animosity and targeted the Democratic politician unfairly with their decision.
Instead of discussing the misdeeds of Schiff, CNN pointed to Republican disagreeability in an attempt to paint a picture of a wronged political figure.
Independent journalist Josh Borro further clarified his side of the story and stated that high amounts of animosity alongside Schiff’s attempts to discredit former President Trump with false accusations were likely what drove the Republicans to take such a strong stance against him. Josh was quoted as saying it “doesn’t have any force besides being a statement”.
CNN’s Poppy Harrow followed this point with a comment about the House having too much “free time”, suggesting that getting rid of Schiff from his post was a waste of time. Borro agreed, furthering the point that Republicans had nothing to do but pass “statements like this censure”.
It is clear that CNN failed to acknowledge the fact that Schiff had peddled false information, instead seeing the Republican’s reaction as petty and unjust. It is apparent that the news network was avoiding the truth, as discussing the facts would have impaired Democrat reputation. They even went so far as to ignore the opinions of Republicans and not give them a platform to provide their opinion on the matter.
The episode provided evidence that neither the news media or the political representatives involved want to take responsibility for the false accusations made.
The agenda of both CNN and the Democratic Party mostly consists of attacking Republicans and denying there was ever any wrong-doing, even when it is blatantly obvious. This culture of sweeping issues under the rug is something that plagues politics throughout the United States. It is dangerous and irresponsible and can lead to many false impressions being formed about politicians and their motives.
It is for this reason that it is essential that the truth is fully disclosed so that correct judgements can be made.
