The left-leaning media can be expected to promote any Democrat candidate as a “trailblazer,” regardless of how uncontroversial or mediocre their qualifications may be. Such is the case with Sarah McBride, the former adviser to Delaware Sen. Beau Biden, who is now running for a seat in the House of Representatives.
The press has been eagerly celebrating McBride for being both ‘historic’ and for being transgender, since this supposedly “opens” the mind of “lifelong Catholic” Joe Biden to “transgender rights.” This narrative was pushed by Jake Tapper on Wednesday’s ‘The Lead’ by softballing McBride, leaving no room to actually challenge his ideas.
When asked how he “changed” the president’s mind, McBride responded:
”I would never take credit for opening anyone’s heart or mind on transgender rights. Joe Biden has a big heart, and that big heart has led him to be one of the most vocal champions of LGBTQ equality at the national level. It’s why he came out for marriage equality so early. It’s why he called trans rights the civil rights issue of our time back in 2012.”
Politico even had the audacity to suggest that Biden has become an “unlikely champion of LGBTQ causes,” despite how out of touch with reality such a title implies. McBride then went on to give the credit not to Biden, but in fact to the late Beau Biden for “ushering in” this “movement” in his home state. But this logic detracts from the real underlying issue, which is that Democrats are forcefully pushing the transgender movement, regardless of the political and social conflicts this might impose on Americans.
Watch
The media’s adoration of McBride reveals that same narrative, where one’s identity — in this case, being transgender — deems more important than any other credentials. It’s a classic example of how liberal outlets are unwilling to subject candidates to real questioning or criticism; instead, they simply reward them for being different.
Jake Tapper says transgender state Sen. Sarah McBride — today's "historic" candidate — worked for Biden, where she, shall we say "opened his mind," since "as a lifelong Catholic who has been more conservative on social issues than other Democrats…" He has? Recently? pic.twitter.com/SVP8pRlwiC

McBride is right in saying that Biden has always championed LGBT rights and showed immense support towards the queer community. But where he fails to recognize is that those stances are meant to remain a personal mission and are not meant to be thrust upon other unwilling parties.
The line is really drawn when you start forcing those views on other Americans and in Joe’s case- into the education system. That’s just sick.
