Watch: School Goes Full Grinch- Bans Christmas For Everyone!

The Wallingford-Swathmore School District in Philadelphia has declared itself the Grinch who stole Christmas in a clear-cut decision to ban Christmas decorations in schools. Despite the district’s attempt to make their message “unclear,” the memo, obtained by WTXF-TV, was straightforward. The message from Superintendent Wagner Marseille couldn’t have been clearer.

And, just in case you weren’t paying attention, the all caps memo ended with a warning that the “unintended” message applied to all employees. The WTXF-TV report stated, “But the school district insists they weren’t being mean and that their initial message ‘was not clear.'” Instead, they claim that holiday displays are not banned, and the all-inclusive environment is meant to ensure that all traditions are represented and respected.

Unfortunately, the district’s behavior reveals a clear anti-Christian bias. They claim to value inclusivity and non-discrimination, but their actions show otherwise. The ban on Christmas decorations goes against the very values they claim to uphold.

It’s not just a simple holiday for Christians. Christmas is a deeply rooted religious holiday that is celebrated by millions of people around the world. Yet the Wallingford-Swathmore School District deems it appropriate to ban any displays related to this holiday, claiming it might offend someone.

The decision to ban Christmas decorations seems arbitrary and unfair. It is a clear violation of individuals’ freedom of speech and their right to practice their religion. The district’s policy on “ensuring equity and nondiscrimination” for “gender-expansive & transgender students” is eight pages long, yet a simple, three-paragraph tell-off was all it took to deny individuals the right to express their faith tradition.

The school district’s behavior exposes the true issue at hand: a lack of tolerance and understanding. It is not about creating an inclusive environment for all, it is about suppressing the Christian faith. The school district has made it clear that their version of inclusivity does not include the celebration of Christmas.

The district’s justification for the ban is flimsy at best. In a desperate attempt to save face, they claimed their message was “not clear” and that they simply wanted to ensure an “inclusive environment.” However, the original memo was explicitly clear and targeted anyone who celebrated Christmas. If that is not discrimination, then what is?

Instead of embracing diversity and promoting equality, the Wallingford-Swathmore School District has chosen to suppress a significant religious holiday. Their actions are not only a disgrace to the spirit of Christmas but also a violation of basic human rights. It is unacceptable for a public institution to blatantly discriminate against any group, let alone one based on their religious beliefs.

The message is clear: the Wallingford-Swathmore School District does not support Christians or their celebration of Christmas. And their attempt to backtrack and rebrand their decision as a call for inclusivity falls flat when their original message was so clearly anti-Christmas. This holiday season, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas: love, acceptance, and understanding. The Wallingford-Swathmore School District could learn a thing or two from the very holiday they are trying to suppress.
