Joe Scarborough, the notorious host of MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’, has now revealed his obsession with outward displays of masculinity yet again. He just can’t seem to keep away from his troubling habit. On Tuesday’s episode of the show, he wasted no time before referring to the Republican Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, as “little” Mike Johnson – not only once, but twice.
We’ve seen multiple instances of this behavior from him before, with Scarborough boasting about his own toughness to the point of threatening to make a Capitol tourist “eat” his camera if he caught him taking pictures in places he didn’t like. He has also boasted about never letting anyone “emasculate” him like Donald Trump supposedly did to J.D. Vance. These are just a few examples of Macho Joe’s proclivity towards showing off his strength and toughness.
In the first part of the clip, we can see that Scarborough started to simply say “Mike Johnson”, but then he stopped himself midway and added the word “little” before it. This reveals that his dig at Johnson’s physical stature was intentional and he took pleasure in making fun of someone’s height. Later on in the clip, he again refers to Johnson as the “little Speaker”.
It is worth noting that Scarborough, at 6’2″ tall, where Johnson stands at 6’—Nothing much to brag about but that doesn’t seem to stop Joe.
However, height has nothing to do with one’s capabilities and actions.
When things got tough for Scarborough, he simply quit his job as a congressman and ran away, claiming to spend more time with his family. Johnson, on the other hand, not only managed to get elected as Speaker, but also showed great strength in keeping his Republican caucus united on various issues.
Moreover, it is ironic that Scarborough’s fascination with height comes from someone who often speaks highly of “Madisonian democracy” and advocates against the supposed Republican threat to it. What he fails to realize is that James Madison, the namesake of this democratic style, was the shortest American president at just 5’4″. This shows that one’s physical height has no correlation with their ability to lead and govern effectively.
You know what’s funny? He has never once mocked the modest height of Nancy Pelosi, but praises her strength as a Speaker. This double standard shows his blatant bias and disrespect towards those he disagrees with politically.
Scarborough’s obsession with machismo, physical strength, and outward displays of false- masculinity is not only troubling, but also reveals his true character.
Scarborough’s is a putz… He’s implying that Johnson is small or short but according to his profile, he’s 6′. The entire argument is rediculous.
