Trump!” coming from the audience. The chants were loud and disruptive, making it difficult for James to deliver her speech. When the chanting subsided, they were replaced by boos and jeers directed at the attorney general.

In her speech, James praised the “first African-American woman chaplain” or something similar, but the audience was not having it. They continued to jeer and hurl insults at her, including the use of vulgar language. A second video from the event, also posted to X, showed the audience booing as James made her way to the podium. It was clear that the crowd had no respect for the attorney general, and she responded with a snarky comment and a condescending tone when asking the audience to “simmer down.”

James campaigned for the attorney general position on the promise to go after Trump’s New York business interests. She brought a politically-motivated fraud case against the former president, which had no victims and was seen as laughable by many.
